David Fuerst, MD

David Fuerst, MD is a prominent ophthalmic surgeon who has been performing corneal, cataract and refractive surgery for over 25 years. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a respected consultant and educator.

Dr. Fuerst received his Sc. B. (1975) and MD (1978) degrees from Brown University. He interned at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois. He was awarded a fellowship in corneal surgery and external eye disease at the University of California, San Francisco. He was named Director of the Corneal Service at White Memorial Medical Center, where he also served as ophthalmology residency program director. Dr. Fuerst has published several scientific papers, contributed to ophthalmic textbooks, and has trained residents and fellows in ophthalmology.

Dr. Fuerst served as President of the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons(CAEPS) in 2003. He has also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CAEPS.

Dr. Fuerst performs ophthalmic surgery at the Glendale Eye Surgery Center, and the San Gabriel Valley Surgery Center. Laser refractive procedures are performed at Laser Eye Associates near Cedars Sinai Medical Center and at Glendale Eye Medical Group. All of these facilities provide excellent care and have state-of-the-art equipment.

Dr. Fuerst is a shareholder in Glendale Eye Surgery Center and Laser Eye Associates.


Richard A. Weise, MD

Richard A. Weise, MD specializes in ophthalmic plastic surgery. His skills as botb an opbtbalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon insure tbe best results for both cosmetic and functional surgery of the eyelids. He also specializes in the treatment of dry eye syndrome when ttear replacement alone is not satisfactory, and pterygium surgery. Dr. Weise bas been in practice for over 25 years and has performed tbousands of successful surgeries. He is affiliated with the Glendale Eye Surgery Center, where the latest lasers are used for ocular resurfacing and other oculoplastic procedures.

Dr. Weise attended the University of Southern California, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1976. He also earned his medical degree from USC in 1980. He received the Dean's Merit Award during his medical school years. Dr. Weise completed his internship at the Los Angeles County / USC Medical Center. His ophthalmology residency was at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Weise completed his formal training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the prestigious University of Toronto, Canada.
