Refractive surgery fees vary based on the surgery performed, starting at $3,250.00. Use of custom programs, use of the intralase, and surgery after previous corneal transplant procedures are at additional cost. The fee includes the refractive surgery examination, medications for surgery, surgeon and facility fees, and post-operative care. There is a small additional fee for any enhancements needed within the first year after surgery. The last scheduled follow-up exam is at 6 months, but there is no charge for post-operative exams during the first year. There is a reduced fee for previous patients who want to upgrade to CustomCornea.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are sometimes called medical spending accounts or cafeteria plans. You should take advantage of this benefit, if available, to pay for any medical expenses that will not be reimbursed by your health insurance plan.

An expense considered a "deductible medical expense" by the IRS, which is not reimbursed by your health insurance plan, can be reimbursed through FSA.
